Experts previously told Byrdie that different skin types required different products for maintenance, and while over-washing can cause dryness and a compromised skin barrier, under-washing could result in clogged pores and dullness.

But, instead of using a traditional cleanser to wash her face, Candice dry brushes her face to exfoliate it and get rid of dead skin before rinsing with warm water and applying beef tallow, or fat, as a moisturizer or serum.

The wonders of beef tallow, however, have been debunked by experts who say it wouldn’t be their “first choice” and might even be a culprit behind stubborn breakouts.

“Tallow, because it’s high in oleic acid just like olive oil is, it’s been shown to disrupt the skin barrier and actually cause more irritation versus plant oils that are high in linoleic acid,” board-certified dermatologist Dr. Muneeb Shah previously told The Post.

“I wouldn’t actually even prefer it as a moisturizer when you actually break down the ingredients inside of it,” he added.

Shah, who is better known as the “Derm Doctor” on TikTok, recommends using tried and true skincare products that have become “affordable and widely available.”

Candice’s less-is-more method has perplexed TikTok viewers, who noted the creator’s lack of sunscreen and wondered what a dermatologist would think of the routine.

“BEEF TALOW???? Girl, goodbye,” exclaimed one user.

“Would you wash your sweaty, dirty body with just water?” quipped someone else.

Others, however, shared their skincare success after putting down the cleanser.

“Yes water to wash the face, beef tallow to moisturize. Skin is glowing and clear. When I use face wash, I immediately break out,” one supporter said.

“THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY!!! This has been my dirty little secret for decades! I never tell anyone I don’t wash my face for the stigma lol,” a second cheered.

Haters have got beef with this skincare secret.

A content creator, who goes only by Candice online, has raised eyebrows after revealing she cleared up her acne by using beef tallow as a moisturizer.

In a TikTok video scoring 6 million views, Candice opened up about her struggle with blemishes that began as a teen, saying her “fancy products” and “elaborate” skincare routine were making her complexion worse.

“My skin was oily, bumpy, textured, dry in some areas — like, it was not good,” she explained.

“About a year ago, I figured that it makes literally zero sense to have such a complicated skincare routine because your skin puts all this effort into producing its own natural oils and its own sebum, yet every night before going to bed, we’re stripping it off with, like, all these harsh products.”

Sebum, the oily substance produce by the skin to maintain its moisture, can clog pores or lead to oilier skin if over-produced, which, in turn, could cause breakouts.

The golden rule of skincare — other than investing in daily moisturizing and applying SPF — has been to wash your face morning and night, emphasizing that the number of cleanses often isn’t to blame for irritated skin, but rather the products themselves.
