Super Bowl 2024 saw a victory for the Kansas City Chiefs, for Beyoncé fans and for memes on Sunday night.
It was a tense game that went into overtime, the commercials kept it light and funny and Usher delivered an energetic halftime performance.
Pop princess Taylor Swift, 34, was in attendance to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 34, as his team ultimately beat the San Francisco 49ers 25 to 22.
One of her friends, rapper Ice Spice, didn’t seem to know what was happening on the field, and the two women mingling with Travis’ NFL player brother, Jason Kelce, made for an unlikely combination of celebs.
All of this created fertile ground for memes.
Here are the best from Super Bowl LVIII.
Travis Kelce yelling
During the game, Kelce had a heated moment where he yelled at coach Andy Reid, 65. Fans had a field day online, making it into an instant meme and filling in what Kelce may have been saying.

One fan posted the image of Kelce’s heated moment, and imagined that he was saying, “NOBODY CARES IF YOU ACT LIKE AN A-HOLE, ANDY. YOU’RE AN NFL COACH. BUT IF I, LIKE, LEAVE THE TOILET SEAT UP, THE NEXT DAY THE NUMBER ONE SONG IN THE GODDAMED WORLD IS, ‘OH APPARENTLY TOILET SEATS ARE MYSTERIOUS.’ DO YOU KNOW HOW PARANOID THAT MAKES ME,” the fan wrote, referring to Swift’s habit of writing songs about her boyfriends.
Another fan joked about what Kelce screamed, “YOUR DOG STRETCHED AND I DID NOT HEAR YOU SAY ‘OH BIG STRETCH.’ WAS IT NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU? DID HE NOT STRETCH TO YOUR PARTICULAR LIKING???”

Kelce didn’t reveal what he said during the fiery exchange. “You guys saw that?” Kelce said, according to the Associated Press. “I’m going to keep it between us unless my mic’d up tells the world. I was just telling him how much I loved him.”
“He caught me off balance,” Reid told reporters, according to ESPN. “I wasn’t watching. He was really coming over [and saying], ‘Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score.’ So, that’s really what it was. I love that. It’s not the first time. I appreciate him. The part I love is he loves to play the game and he wants to help his team win. It’s not a selfish thing. That’s not what it is. I understand that.”
The two men were also seen hugging afterwards.
Usher
Resurfaced footage of Usher’s performance at a 2022 NPR Music “Tiny Desk Concert” went viral again during his halftime performance, as fans posted a clip of the R&B singer mouthing “watch this.”
“Me: ‘Usher, you’ll never roller skate at the super bowl,’ ” one fan posted on X, formerly Twitter. They followed that statement up with the resurfaced clip.
There were also memes about Usher’s halftime performance having unique appeal to millennials — since his hit “Yeah!” came out in 2004, when most millennials were still in school.
“Usher went on stage end reminded all the millenials that they are adults now,” one person commented.
“That was millennial chaos (positive),” another fan commented about Usher’s performance, which also included special guests Alicia Keys and Ludacris.
Another fan remarked that the halftime show displayed “incredible millennial prom energy,” referring to the fact that many millennials danced to “Yeah!” at their proms.
Usher also appeared to wear a blanket, which sparked lots of commentary, such as, “Love how Usher was walking around with a blanket on the same way I walk around my house on a cold day,” and, “Did usher just enter the stadium wearing a blanket or.”

Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce
Taylor Swift was caught on camera introducing her boyfriend’s brother, Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce, 36, to her friend, fellow musician Ice Spice.
The photo of the unlikely trio soon went viral, with memes narrating what was happening.
“Rooster and Lily St. Regis when they came to kidnap Annie,” one person captioned the photo, referring to Ice Spice’s orange afro, and the 1982 musical.
Another fan filled in what Kelce may have been saying to Ice Spice: “Ice and Spice, just how I like my margaritas! Ha, I’m Jason.”
Another viewer remarked, “If your sibling has ever gotten into a relationship and you meet that person’s weird ass friends and you spend entire events going ‘hmmm’ then you stand alongside Jason Kelce.”
Another person imagined that he was saying, “Now which spice are you?”
Taylor Swift chugs a beer
Swift was caught on the jumbotron chugging a beer, which quickly caught the internet by storm.
“Taylor Swift chugging a beer on the scoreboard, she is one of us,” one fan proclaimed.

Another fan linked this meme of Swift chugging beer back to the meme of Travis Kelce yelling.
“Travis Kelce yelling at Andy Reid for making Taylor swift chug a beer because he was not in the game,” the viewer wrote, next to the footage of Kelce yelling.
Ice Spice
Rapper Ice Spice, who was hanging out with Swift at the big game, was the subject of countless memes for her facial expressions and gestures, and her demeanor, which seemed confused. While Swift and Blake Lively were celebrating a play on the field, Ice Spice struck a pose and looked directly at the camera, which quickly made its rounds online.
“Ice spice is just like me (no idea what is going on),” one viewer said.

Viewers were amused that Ice Spice (first row, second from left) seemed more interested in posing for the camera than watching the game. Twitter
“People explaining football to ice spice in every video she’s in is so real,” another fan commented.
“Ice Spice just happy the game over,” another viewer teased.
Patrick Mahomes as Kermit
Victorious Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Mahomes, 28, was the subject of memes comparing him to Kermit the Frog, because of an apparent similarity in their voices.
“Someone said Patrick Mahomes sounds like Kermit The Frog. Now I can’t un hear it,” one fan remarked.
“Patrick Mahomes just made…. Kermit’s voice cool again!” another fan declared.
“Every time I heard Patrick Mahomes talk I’m taken aback. Why this beautiful man sound like Kermit the frog?” another fan complained.
“Patrick mahomes running like a worried kermit the frog evacuating a burning building,” another fan joked.
